TOM McCALL MINISTRIES E-LETTER

Week of August 1 – 7, 2010

Living Programs Foundation Newsletter

Dr. Tom McCall

www.tommccallministries.com

Dr. McCall has a Doctorate in Old Testament Studies from
Dallas Theological Seminary.  He has authored or co-authored nine books on Biblical subjects, served 25
years as Missionary with Chosen People Ministries, worked with Zola
Levitt in his Television ministry, and taught adjunct college and
seminary courses.

He has led numerous tours to Israel,
the Middleast, Greece
and Europe, participated in
archaeological programs about Biblical Lands.  He is currently
teaching adult Bible classes in the Tyler area, and in
live streaming and archived classes on the Internet.

ISRAEL

UPDATE
PART OF ALL OUR CLASSES

ISRAEL
UPDATE.  All our classes begin with an Israel Update.  As Bible
believing Christians, we believe in the imminent Rapture of the Body of
Christ, the restoration and redemption of Israel
at the 2nd Coming of Christ, the reign of Christ for a thousand years
over the same world that crucified Him with Jerusalem as His capital, and the
eternal New Heaven, the New Earth and the New Jerusalem.

Israel is a
key element in the unfolding of Bible prophecy.  The nations,
individuals and churches that stand by Israel as it faces
Satanic fury from around the world will be blessed by the God of
Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We need to be aware of what is happening in and
about Israel
as we move ever closer to the Lord’s return.

Jeff Gutterman, director of the Firstborn Son Ministry in
the Dallas area, has established a relationship with an Israeli Christian
youth ministry called Netivah.

This is
an indigenous work led by Israeli military believers in Christ, who are
working with young Jewish believers who are about to go into the
army.  Netivah trains them on how to
maintain their witness for the Lord during and after their obligatory
military service.

Netivah is endorsed as part of the Israel
Project that we support.  If you are interested in
supporting this project, please let us know.

Shalom in Christ,

Tom McCall

Greetings Friends

Thank you for your interest in the study of the
everlasting and infallible Word of God.  The best way the Lord has
given us to know Him and His Son Christ Jesus is through the
Scriptures.  We are committed to searching and sharing the great
truths of the Bible in local classes and through the marvelous medium
of the Internet.

REMINDERS:

Sunday Class at Grace Community Church on
Old Jacksonville Rd., August 1, Room 3 in the Chapel
Building, 9:30 AM

In our study of the Gospel of John, we
see that in Chapter 17

In His high priestly prayer (John 17), Jesus says that
He has given to us who believe in Him the same glory that the Father
has given Him.  He furthermore asks the Father that we would be
with Him so we could see His glory which He had before the foundation
of the world.

What an amazing promise.  Yet
another assurance that we will be with Him in Heaven for all
eternity.

Carl Weber,as usual, will be leading in
the time asking for prayer requests.  You will not want to miss the class this Sunday.

MINISTRY
AT GREEN ACRES  BAPTIST
CHURCH

We are planning to concentrate on the Fall, Winter and Spring Special Courses at Green
Acres Baptist Church, the Lord willing
In October, our plan is to present the Biblical Eschatology (end time prophecies) vs. the Pagan Escatologies, such as the Muslim 12th Imam, the Eco Global Warming, the Mayan and New Age 2012, and the Anunnaki concept.

These pagan groups have developed cult
followings throughout the world, and they are drawing many people, especially youth, into their unbiblical orbit.  It is important for our people to understand the truth.

Then in the Winter Course we plan to do a Survey of the Old Testament, and a Survey of the New Testament in the Spring.  Jack Jones and David Pierson have already been excellent leaders in our ministry thus far at GABC, and
we look forward to their continuing leadership in the months ahead.

Monday Luncheon Bible Class at Ryan’s Steak House on
South Broadway, August 2, at 11:45 AM

We are currently studying the Book of Genesis, Chapter 3, which explains how the human race fell away from our Creator in Adam, when he ate of the forbidden fruit.

Both spiritual death and physical death became a reality in the human
experience.

Adam and Eve tried to cover their shame with vegetation, and they hid from the presence of the
Lord God with whom they had had perfect fellowship before.  But God called them to Him, and then began the conversation with both bad and good news that has impacted the world ever since.

Bob Dulin will moderate the class, and lead our people in prayer requests, as usual.

——————————

Tuesday, August 3, there is a men’s Luncheon Class that meets at 11:45 AM at Marvin United Methodist Church
on the Second Floor opposite the elevator. The cost is $7.00 each.  To make a reservation, call the church office 903-592-7396 and tell them you are attending the men’s class.

In Ephesians 2 Paul develops the

theme that both Jews and Gentiles who believe in the
Lord Jesus Christ are made one in the body of Christ.

We Gentiles who have come to believe in the Messiah of Israel,
the Lord Jesus Christ, are fellow citizens with the Jewish believers in
Christ, and are growing into a holy temple in the Lord.

Judge Tom Ramey will be the MC for the class
and will be inviting prayer requests.

They are to be sanctified in the Truth, and God’s Word is Truth.  One of the reasons the world hates the Gospel of Christ is because it is both inclusive and exclusive.  Everyone is invited to receive Christ and salvation, but also no one can come to the Father except through Christ.  He is the Way, the Truth and the Life.

In our study of the Gospel of John, we see that in Chapter 16

Jesus explains the way prayer will work when He is gone. When we pray in the name of Jesus, the Father will respond because we have loved Christ and believed He has come from the Father.
What an intimate relation we have with the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit by His grace.

ADDITIONAL SUNDAY CLASS  AT GREEN ACRES  BAPTIST CHURCH, May 23, AT 11:15 AM, Worship Center Room 118B

This week Jack Jones will be teaching on 2 Corinthians 4:18, comparing the visible things that are temporal and the invisible things that are eternal.
Jack and Arleen Jones will be presenting discipleship and prayer requests, and David and Melba Pierson will be assisting in the arrangements for the class.  All are invited.

Monday Luncheon Bible Class at Ryan’s Steak House on South Broadway, May 24, at 11:45 AM
This Monday, we shall plan to have an open session, when you can ask those questions about the Word that have been puzzling you.  We may not have all the answers, but we know that the answers to all important questions can be found in Christ and His Word.

Bob Dulin will moderate the class, and lead our people in prayer requests, as usual.

We are continuing our study in Romans, and have come to Romans 16. In this closing chapter, Paul unveils his pastoral heart, and mentions numerous believers in Christ who find themselves in Rome at the time this epistle arrives there.  Some of them are well known to us from the Book of Acts, while others are only mentioned here.  All have played a significant role in Paul’s ministry.

We shall continue our study of the Book of Exodus, and turn from the great episode of the Crossing of the Red Sea to the story of the Giving of the Law.  The Scriptures call Israel’s acceptance of the Law a marriage contract between God and Israel. What were the ramifications of this union?

Also, what part did the angels play in the giving of the Law?

We are continuing our class on Romans, and have come to Romans 15. In these closing chapters, Paul asks the Roman Christians to pray for him, that he would be protected from harm in Judea, and that his gift to the saints in Jerusalem from the churches among the Gentiles will be acceptable.  As we know from the book of Acts, the Lord does not always answer our prayers in the way we expect.Paul eventually got to Rome, but as a prisoner, and some believe that he may have gotten to Spain later.  What an amazing missionary life Paul had.
Judge Tom Ramey will be the MC for the class and will be inviting prayer requests.

Sunday Class at Grace Community Church on Old Jacksonville Rd., April 25, Room 3 in the Chapel Building, 9:30 AM

In our study of the Gospel of John, we see that in Chapter 15

Jesus explains that He wants us to have His joy, and that our joy would be full.  The world considers Christians to be dull sour pusses.  But the Lord says that we are to radiate with joy.

ADDITIONAL SUNDAY CLASS  AT GREEN ACRES  BAPTIST CHURCH, April 25, AT 11:15 AM, Worship Center Room 118B

We shall continue our study of the Book of Exodus, and turn to the Passover story in the 12th Chapter.  There are so many pictures of Christ in the Passover, which is the oldest Biblical Feast that is still being observed today, after 3500 years.  On that night God struck down the firstborn sons of Egypt, but spared the firstborn sons of Israel.  Their doorposts had the lamb’s blood on them.
Jack and Arleen Jones will be presenting discipleship and prayer requests, and David and Melba Pierson will be assisting in the arrangements for the class.  All are invited.

Monday Luncheon Bible Class at Ryan’s Steak House on South Broadway, April 26, at 11:45 AM
We continue our series on the
Book of Genesis, and we come to the fifth day, in which God created life in the ocean, including the great whales and the multitude of fish, and then the many species of birds that fly in the air.  Variety and plenty characterize the animal life that the Great Designer has made.
Bob Dulin, as usual, will be the MC for class and lead in our prayer time. Plan to be with us

this Monday.

Tuesday, April 27, there is a men’s Luncheon Class that meets at 11:45 AM at Marvin United Methodist Church on the Second Floor opposite the elevator. The cost is $7.00 each.  To make a reservation, call the church office 903-592-7396 and tell them you are attending the men’s class.

We are continuing our class on Romans, and have come to Romans 14.  Here Paul explains that we are to be tolerant of each others concerns about “doubtful things.”   Activities that the Lord has not given direction are to be done before Him.  We have to give account to Him, not to others, and others are not responsible to us either.
Judge Tom Ramey will be the MC for the class and will be inviting prayer requests.
